Deconstruct/Reconstruct Tote

Here's the project o' the day at my place. I have been crusin' around blogland trying to find the best grocery bag tote tutorial. I found LOTS. I will try LOTS of them, but for some reason today I decided that I wanted to make my own pattern. So instead of reinventing the wheel, I took one of my cheapo poly reusable totes from Schnucks and cut it all apart. I used that as my pattern. I tweaked things along the way and took notes so if I liked how it turned out I could put my own tutorial. Well, I'm not quite ready to put up the "World's Best Grocery Totebag Tutorial", but I am happy with how it turned out. I learned a lot (I haven't made a bag in years!!!) and will use everything I learned in my next bag. So here it is in all its glory. Isn't that Alexander Henry bird print FAB-U-LUSS!

I'm really not going into a whole lot of detail on this bag because I'm still not 100% happy with my process on this. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the bag, but I know it it can be much better. When it's much better I'll share all the deets, bad and good I promise!
