Grass 1, Kalynda 0

Ahhh Sunday the day of rest. PHIFT - whatever!

Little G did not get the "we sleep in on Sunday" message. So I decided to take advantage of the cool morning weather to get some work done in the yard. The grass was wet and my hands were dirty and I was super sweaty so I did not take my camera/phone outside with me. I managed to fill 3 yard waste bags full of weeds. Seriously. 3 bags. I only made it about 60% of the way through the yard. UGH. I have a beautiful, BIG, expertly landscaped yard that can be the most amazing place to be when I can keep up. Im great at fall clean up and I have a million, bazillion bulbs that make the yard pop with all kinds of color in the spring, but I suck at the yard during the summer. Its hot. I dont go out there. It gets low on my priority list.

Of course, I cant make it through the day without some kind of injury. I decided to take out one of the decorative grasses that had become waaaaaaaaay too large. I forgot that the grass is itchy and it can easily cut through even the toughest of skin. So the grass got my right arm and right leg. Heres how my arm faired:

Two side notes:
1) There is not a flattering way of taking this picture. While I dont sport the most petite, toned arms on the face of the earth, they certainly look better in person than they do in the picture.
2) I took this picture in the bathroom. There's good (enough) light in there and I can see the reflection of the camera screen in the mirror so I knew what the picture would look like. Im a genius I thought. I walk out of the bathroom and, with the most puzzled look on his face, Matt asks me why Im taking pictures of myself in the bathroom. Yeah, I guess that IS a little weird. Its a good thing he loves me, I am special.
