Quilt-a-rific

Look Ma! No cavities! Yup, I went to the dentist today. Now my teeth are super duper sparkly clean again. I also got my last set of trays for my Invisalign! WHOOP! So Sept 8th is lookin like the day when I get to be done with plastic constantly in my mouth! I'm sure there will be some tweaking left to do, but for now Ill just pretend like that's the end all, do all day!

Here's whats on the quilting frame today (and it's mine!):

Here's my finished quilt o' the day (also mine!). I have had this quilt quilted for a very long time, it's has been the binding that has slowed the progress on this one. I always brought this quilt to show students how I did the binding by hand when I taught binding classes - all the way back when we lived in AZ! Yeah - I know, like forever ago. So I saw it sitting there all lonely, crying out to be finished. So I whipped on the rest of the binding last night, and washed it today! Yippee, go me!

But wait! I have yet another finish to tell you about. Although its not as fabulous as the quilt, I finished another book! "A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian" by Marina Lewycka. I know what you are thinking "Ummm, that doesn't sound very interesting". Don't judge a book by its, ummm, title? Its a story about Ukrainian exiles and how the family lets go of their past and embraces their relationships in the present. It also gave an interesting view point of caring for aging parents. I don't know if I would read it again, but I'm glad that I did read it. Very interesting.

And I shall end this post with a picture of my cat. Miss Kitty. Hmmm, I think I disturbed her nap, hence the crusty look. Don't judge her just by the picture though. She is the most friendly cat on earth. Nice to the point of obnoxious. I love her mucho!
